Xurrent

An electrifying website for Xurrent's elite service management platform

Introduction

Inspired to rejuvinate their tired branding and emphasise their innovative product, Xurrent expressed ther vision for a new 'electrifying' site.

Through a rigerous design process and various discussions with the team, it was decided that a slick, dark, typography focussed site with animated ciruitry would create the perfect tone for their product.

What did I do?

I worked alongside another designer contracted to DotFun to create the initial designs - as well as being the site's developer, I acted as creative director (but with a hands on approach), helping to forge a distinctive identity that carries the character of their brand.

From day one, the client was fascinated with the concept of circuitry and electricity. so working this into the site was an absolute must for them. I was eager to avoid the clichè 'crypto startup' asethetic, while the client was in love with the 'tech' vibes - finding the balance was key!

CREATING 'ELECTRICITY'

One of the projects main challenges was to create a convincing, interactive electric 'pulse' effect with CSS and GSAP, controlled by the users scroll movements. This electric pulse effect had to be slotted into various sections of the site with various different shaped wires to follow, and yet somehow made responsive across all screen sizes, particularly large desktops where the end of the 'wires' could easily be seem. It took some time to nail down the perfect electric glow, and to ensure it travelled smoothly along the wire - it came together perfectly and took this site to the next level.
